Goldsby Glimpse: San Diego Girls Weekend

As much as this baby business is consuming our lives and this blog I do have to squeeze in a little of our latest adventures, a little fun! Both Phil and I are promising to take advantage of our “mobility and freedom” right now while we can… The weekend of June 19th, while Phil went to Shasta Lake for his good friend Jim’s bachelor party, I headed off to San Diego with the girls! After dropping Izzy off with GranMa in Galt,(she is amazing by the way and Izzy ADORES her) I headed out to the East Bay where Courtney C, Sami, Franny and I did a crazy road trip to San Diego for 4 days. While there we stayed with Courtney W and Nathan, as well as visited with Brittany. It was such a great trip! I am so lucky to have such great friends. It is so neat how my friends from different periods in my life blend so well together and we can have so much fun! I have known Courtney W and Brittany since we were 5, Franny since high school, Courtney C from St. Mary’s, Sami from UC Davis Credential Program and yet we all are friends and had an absolute blast together. It was a weekend full of music, wine (sparkling cider for me ;), ocean swimming, sunshine, fair frolicking, laughter and love. There is something about taking a trip to San Diego and being surrounded by my closest friends that renews my spirit and soul. My next trip back will be with a new little person, but I can’t wait to share my love for this wonderful place and amazing friends with him or her… lucky kid they will be ;)
