The Crib Purchase

So I know it might sound crazy and a little bit early but at 16 weeks pregnant, we made the first official and lets hope the biggest, baby purchase, the crib!  After searching craigslist for awhile I finally found this listing for a white sleigh crib and mattress.  It turns out it was a great price and the family selling the crib was a sweet couple in their 30's with a five year old daughter and the wife was a teacher.   (The wife and I had some great "teacher talk" as the husbands loaded the crib in the truck!)  The picture of the crib was their posting on craigslist, we have it without the bedding which is TBD. ;)

Although the crib is perfect, the entrance into our house was not so perfect... The crib suprisingly is not super heavy with the mattress out we had no problem getting it out of the truck, so we decided to not take it apart to save us the hassle, but up the twisting stairs was another adventure (see picture)!

 

If anyone had been watching us it would have been a hilarious sight! Half way up the stairs, we had to switch places while Phil carefully balanced it on his back and railing, then when we got to the entrance into the spare bedroom the crib was too wide for the door!  So with no room to spare on either side we had to carefully dismantle it passing the wrench back and forth through the crib bars... finally we got it apart and into the room where it will stay dismantled, until we get ready to set up the baby room! Can't wait to start decorating...
